Independently tested for mould reduction
We sent First Light to an independent laboratory and had it tested using a recognised European standard method (BS EN 13697:2023), the quantitative surface test used to measure how much mould a formulation reduces.
The result: a 99.2% reduction in Aspergillus niger (black mould).
How the test works, in plain terms. A measured amount of the undiluted blend is placed on a surface carrying live black mould. After a set contact time of 15 minutes under controlled laboratory conditions, the surviving mould is counted and compared against an untreated surface. First Light left 99.2% less live mould.
This is a measured laboratory result on direct contact. First Light is not a registered disinfectant.
Why Testing Matters
plant compounds vary widely in quality. Factors including growing conditions, harvest timing, extraction methods, and storage can all affect the final composition. Without rigorous testing, there's no way to verify that what's in the bottle matches what's on the label.
We test because consistency matters. If natural mould defence relies on the presence and balance of selected plant compounds, then every batch must meet those specifications.
Purity and consistency
Every batch is tested to confirm the six oils are present at the right levels, with no adulterants, synthetic additives, or contaminants. This is how we know what is in the bottle matches what is on the label, from one batch to the next.
Made for home use
The blend is made within recognised safety limits for everyday home fragrance use. Six pure plant oils, no fillers.
Batch Consistency
Natural products inherently vary. Growing conditions change year to year; extraction yields differ between harvests. Our testing protocols account for this natural variation while ensuring every batch meets our specifications.
Each production run is tested and compared against our reference standards. Batches that fall outside acceptable parameters are rejected. This ensures consistent quality regardless of when you purchase.
