Why bleach doesn't kill mould

Bleach takes the colour off the surface, but the roots of the mould stay alive underneath. The US EPA says bleach should not be used on grout, plaster, drywall or anything else that soaks up water. Household bleach is mostly water, so it actually feeds the mould it was supposed to stop.

What we use instead

First Light is six natural oils that work in the air. The oils float through the room as a fine mist, reaching into the spots a spray cannot get to. Eucalyptus radiata, Tea Tree, Litsea Cubeba (May Chang), Peppermint, Cedarwood, and Clove Bud. Nothing else in the bottle.

Lab tested. 99.2% reduction

An independent lab tested First Light against Aspergillus niger, the black mould most Australian homes deal with. After exposure, 99.2 percent of it was gone.
